We use the Mastercard® exchange rate. We simply pass that rate directly on to you, without adding any mark-ups or fees.
When you spend abroad, your bank or credit card will be given a rate by Mastercard, Visa, or American Express. Some credit cards (not us) add up to 3% on top of that rate to make more money.
The European Central Bank (ECB) publishes exchange rates based on a daily average of European central banks.
Mastercard rates sometimes vary from the European Central Bank rates, so we've added a calculator to see the difference.
